Webtoon artist has a lot of pressure and workload to release a chapter every week. The sleepless nights working on the manhwa have ruined their health, thus they need a break. It needs a longer time for them to recuperate too if they have problems with their mental health as well. If it is so, we can only pray for their speedy recovery.
Otherwise, it might be just a trick from the publisher to say that the webtoon is discontinued. It's been more than a year for the hiatus after all. Dunno which is right. Too bad, the story has just started to pick up too. I think it's going to be like LMS which has indefinite hiatus as well for years. There is no sign for a continuation.
Yeah, I guess this line of work doesn't pay well for all that.
maybe it didn't sell well because of pirates? *cough*...
bu I still don't buy the overworked stuff, us normal(?) people work like 10 to 12 hours a day and dont even come close to death.
they have an entire week to do all the work and I get its difficult but if you pull an all nighter for 3 days maybe you can do a chapter and probably do the advanced chapters leisurely in the other days,
but that's just how I woulda done it if I was an artist.
Hopefully we get news from artist or the publisher
The authors need to do several shit in a fucking week
It's not easy... The authors need to produce storyboards and edit them so it would take about 3 days already then line art and colouring is about 2~3 days and then proofreading and editing for about 1 day.
And to add on,they need to add dialogue and its simple but its definitely tedious and time consuming.
And you expect them to be healthy...
I don't think they only pull a 3 days all nighters. I'm pretty sure they have not slept well the entire time they are making this manhwa.
the work is divided tho
story for author and art for artist...
and 1 chapter a week
are you saying the author whose work is already done needs 8hours to fix a story,
they might even have an editor so why the hardship?
we need a documentary to see their lives as artists instead of generally assuming they actually are at deaths door with every chapter they make.
If so, then their job really does suck
It does suck. Mangakas have one of the worst jobs ever. For the story, they need to change a little bit so it will take time cuz they will have to decide what to keep and what to improve and etc. Let's say this discussion is about half a day.
Then, to make the chapter, the artist, together with the author, needs to make a story board. It's quite fast to make it since it's a sketch. However they have a hella lotta panels. My guess is that it takes about a day and a half to produce one chapter of storyboard, then half a day to a day for changes.
I kinda know a little cuz I'm studying in the art industry. But still take everything I mentioned with a grain of salt. Cuz it really depends on the speed of the ppl working and the quality they want to produce. (Trust me if they wan to be fast and not affect their health, they could but the quality would be really shitty)
Sorry didn't expect this comment to be so lengthy ( ̄∇ ̄")

IM SORRY FOR ANYONE OFFENDED BY THAT BUT WTH IS HAPPENING WITH THESE ARTIST GETTING SICK AND HOSPITALIZED!?
rage off...
apologize for that as i know not what accident befelled our beloved authors/artist,
any news?
