Yeah he sucks ass. I think it has to do with the fact that the other daughter is the daughter of his fiance. I believe he had strong affections for his fiance since her portrait was in his room.

Cause the athanasia's reaction is very funny but what disturbs me so much is how the emperor likes only the daddy's little princess type of children - it's like he is choosing his favourite which is so not parent or you know even human like ? Whaeltever back story there might be I think I can't ignore the fact that he just prefers one daughter over another and it's not a preference of who he gives the candy to first it's a straight love or death situation cause earlier it was mentioned that he killed atahanasia even before she was found guilty ........ Fuck I hate him right now I really don't want athanasia to like him in real ..... ╮(￣▽￣)╭ atahnasia's reactions are the saving grace for this one - I love the art as well
