As a gay person I find it so weird how yall determine on who’s the uke or seme based on stereotypes lol it’s kinda stupid but it’s also the fault of many mangakas for always creating cliche uke and semes. Sighh

Most people don't like Bara because of these silly stereotypes. In my opinion, most people want guys who resemble women to be the bottom because people still can't fully accept the concept of two males having sex and needs one of them to take the "girl" role. Sad really.

That is a very excellent observation, people come for gay sex but are not ok with actual gay sex but a watered down version of some timid, small, soft guy and some tall, buff, gruff, guy. Realistic portrayals are not very popular. It is sad.

Well, the idea of 'tops' and 'bottoms' exists in western culture. It's interesting that uke and seme are terms that pretty much exist solely in fiction. Rather Japanese gay men who don't wish to associate with them and use neko (cat/bottom), tachi (top), and seke (switch).

There should be alot more mangas that involves switches. I can't really believe that there are soo few switches out there in real life.

As someone who knows MANY gays, you’ll be surprised at how many verse gay people there are out there. Really sad that this isn’t depicted at all in mangas but then again it’s women who write these so ig it’s not their fault but... idk lol

Not the mangaka but rather the audience. Most mangakas try to please Japanese Fujos (or in this case korean) so in the short amount of time that they are given they insert as many popular stereotypes as needed in order to satisfy the audience. Nothing to do. We international fans are not the targer audience after all.
