It's been a while.

I had to skim other chapters to catch up. I still don't fully understand Nemu's issues. I get him being jealous, and lonely, but it is as if he has no trust in Maya. He even didn't fully understand that Maya was super depressed when their friend tried to explain how Maya wasn't taking care of himself. They have been through enough to where you'd think Nemu would get how much he means to Maya.

Work is work, maybe this is just a sign to Nemu that he can't do a relationship with a partner that has a hectic work cycle. And that is okay! But he is dragging Maya along with his whims instead of just ending things. Then again that is how Nemu is, he isn't the best at expressing his wants and needs in a timely manner.

maybe you should of read instead of skimmed??
you could of caught on, to his biggest issue for a while now. is all the shit
Ruka keeps doing. Even Naoya straight up told him off, that he not be up to any of his usual shit with these two.

Nemu is guilty for not telling Maya. but Maya is just as guilty for seeing the guy through blinders and not who he actually is.

Maya also offered to break things off with Ruka the moment Nemu said something the first time. The moment Ruka started being shifty towards Nemu, Nemu should have told Maya about the shifty behavior. But he let it build up and then he blew up at Maya over a text message. Maya even asked for an explanation. He told Nemu that he could be mad at him and could yell all he wanted but just to not leave. That was Nemu's chance to open up about Ruka's shiftyness.

Either way Maya and Ruka do work together, so even if he is using the job as an excuse to text Maya, Maya is just responding to a coworker/friend.

If I am remembering correctly Maya got low key disowned when his father found out he was in a gay relationship. Maya chose Nemu over a cushy life and his father's approval. Is that not a big enough deal for Nemu to trust in their relationship? While i understand that Nemu sees himself as plain, especially in comparison to Ruka, if beauty was all it took then the treat of having no access to his parents money would have done the trick.

Yes. There has been a lot of push and pull with this couple. Their start was well, honestly I'm surprised I kept reading because it was just blackmail/rape. But it is more of a normal relationship now. And all relationships come with boundaries and expectations.

Nemu needs to do some soul searching. He needs to mature. This issue will not go away so either he needs to get over his insecurities, or be realistic with the type of relationship he wants. Maya works in a creative field and those type of jobs have busy seasons and slow seasons. What happens when Maya gets another big project? When once again for weeks at a time he can't spend quality time with Nemu? When he's been pulling all nighters and hasn't had enough sleep? Maya is hot, so what happens when Ruka isn't the only threat? If he can't bear being separated from his partner for long periods of time then he should avoid dating people with jobs that suck up time.

We saw Maya texting Nemu and Nemu ignored the text. He ignored him for ten days instead of actually communicating his discomfort. Ten days and he isn't even really mad at Maya just insecure and ashamed. It is wishy washy and childish. So yes, I do believe that he is dragging Maya along with his whims.

Wow, first of all, thank you for your answer, it must have taken a lot of your time.

I've never been on a break or anything but some couples tend to not contact each other at all. You are right, Nemugasa isn't really mad, he is hurt. Also he's confused. Some time to think things over it's absolutely normal and healthy, Maya is the one that didn't take it calmly. For instance, Nemu doesn't even consider him being that depressed because it is just some time alone. He also told him they wouldn't break up.

I disagreed strongly when you said he was dragging Maya along because LOL that's the main reason of their break! Nemu doesn't want to keep Maya from doing his work and meeting the people he wants so he feels awful with himself for actually asking for it, so he needed to put a stop and actually think. He even said that to Okino. If Nemu dragged Maya along he would have asked him before to not see Ruka anymore when Maya offered. He's trying not to be possessive.
They are both maturing. Maya has a terrible habit of choosing his words badly. He's a kid, but he loves Nemu really bad(even though the first hime he said it was during a huge fight). I think they'll get through it thanks to that.

I agree with you like 75% xD I'm too lazy to write down everything I think aobut the two, so I'll just make it short...
In this case all of them are at fault - Ruka primarly for trying to break their relationship, Maya for keeping secrets and not comunicating and Nemu for no talking with Maya properly. Also, Nemu could have handled it better...
I get why Maya didn't tell Nemu about Ruka and also why he was so depressed. I'm not condoning, I just get it. As a former playboy that got dumped so much I bet he has his issues with trust and fear of abandonment or what.
I also get why Nemu backed out, him being insecure and easily pushed around by Ruka. Except that he didn't took a 'step back to re-evaluate his feelings' but he flat out ran away in the end. He blamed Maya for meeting Ruka and neglecting him because of work, forgetting he did the same. And then, while trying to figure himself out, he let it be. I mean, fine, if you decided to break it off because it's not worth it, it's your choice, you have the right for that. But I would thought that someone so upright would have it in him to tell that to his partner... This last chapter proved to me that Nemu is just a spoiled child....

Oh they will get through it. This isn't that kind of manga, lol.

Maya has his own insecurities(that he needs to get over as well), and they are all wrapped up in how Nemu feels about him. It's probably leftover guilt from the bad way their relationship started, but anyway...I hope after this chapter someone lets Nemu know the full impact of the break on Maya. The dude put his job in jeopardy because he was so worried about a possible break up. But despite how desperate Maya was when Nemu asked for a break, Nemu seems to think that Maya was just able to carry on like normal. Which is at the very least interesting, because for whatever reason Nemu doesn't seem to understand how irreplaceable he is to Maya. So even though he dosn't think he's dragging Maya along, or is actively trying to avoid dragging Maya along, he already is.

Nemu's insecurities are making everything 100% worse but Ruka is a special case. Ruka is actively antagonizing Nemu and is using his position as a friend/coworker to mess with their relationship. While I remember Maya being a little wary of Ruka(he did choose to not stay with Ruka after getting kicked out of his dad's apartment) I don't think he knows about all the little conversations Nemu and Ruka has had. I think he just thinks that it is jealousy. So if Nemu wanted to set a hard "please don't associate freely with people that are trying to seduce you" rule that could be reasonable so long as he gives an account of the interactions that make him so wary of Ruka. So I guess for me it's like, if Ruka was a dude not at all after Maya and Nemu was jealous enough to blow up then I'd get him feeling the need to back away before he crossed a line. But maybe he knows that he'd be that possessive anyway?

i can't even tell anymore if Ruka loves him, or just sees him as his ideal self, not sick. so every time he is let down, to see maya do something he himself wouldn't. and he lashes at nemu thinking he is the problem. when he is really his source of energy to do anything with his life.

i think Maya not actually voicing an "i love you" until now, pilled up with his every day insecurities, and to top it off, all of Ruka's bullshit in there. maybe also a bit, of when someone stole his wallet, along with his ring a very short while back. that's never an easy thing to deal with, inside. it's important and from someone he loves. it's like dominos and they all just came crashing down.

maya also seems insecure on his own end. he always seems to think a fight or some space, means breaking up. clearly has issues from the past burdening him too. but like Nemu, he should voice that out to him, and deal with it. he can't always get this way every time they argue. Nemu needs time. that's healthy and fine. i think Maya should actually reflect a bit as well. look back and think why and when did Nemu start feeling this way.
