I wouldn't sympathize with the guy. Think of it this way, an though he had a fucked up childhood he still has the liberty to choose. I mean he should atleast get some mental help. Also did he really love Bum? Sangwoo's a total sociopath!
PS. This is just a little rant so don't take this too seriously (BTW I just wanna add that giving a character a sad backstory automatically makes people sympathize with them even when they have complete control over being badshit crazy)

Sangwoo developed a disorder after going through child abuse. He didn't choose anything and he didn't have control over being crazy lol

i feel bad that sangwoo had to go through so much. i want to sympathize for him but his character now..he gives me the creeps and he’s straight up crazy.
bum on the other hand, he’s being abused and manipulated. he “loves” sangwoo so much that it seems obsessive. sangwoo hurts him so much and every time it seems like he finally realizes it he falls back into the “i can’t leave him because i love him and i’m sure he loves me”.
even if sangwoo did love bum their relationship was toxic af. i’m glad their relationship ended but if i’m being honest i rather have him in jail than being dead. he deserves it after having killed all those people but i feel bad because it’s not his fault for having a fucked up childhood.
