I understand your opinion, tho I respectfully disagree. I agree that sometimes harsh words are used, but I think I understand why people hate Jeannette so much. The new chap isn't out yet but you can see that Jeannette was not neglected and is dear to Ijekiel and the ones that raised her. If you watch from the "black magic" point of view, everyone is naturally attracted to her, while Athy in her past life was only loved by her maid and in the current one she worked really hard to gain everyone affection. It wasn't something that naturally came to her like it does to Jeannette. Also, about the "lack of sympathy and empathy " you quoted about, I think in some ways this speaks about Jeannette too. In chapter 64 when her and Ijekiel talk we understand that she is well aware of what is happening between Athy and Claude. Still she chose to go to Claude even tho we saw Athy sad about that. She sure is sweet and even too innocent for her own good, but this doesn't change the fact that she is hurting many people with her action. Even in the novel you see how we becomes even more greedy and jealous as time passes, so I really understand why so many people dislike her. But I still respect your opinion anyway

Jennette yes, wasn't neglected, but Ijekiel's father raise her only like a tool and Ijekiel... Sorry but even he sees her like his sister, at each time he sees her, he seems bothered, not really interested while with Athanasia he is so amazed ! Yes, he loves her, but as the child we see him run away from Jennette, and we clearly see that he is "forced" to be with her, I mean I know he likes her but... He clearly doesn't happy when he sees her, he is just formal... I find him ... This not him, this is not a honest Ijekiel ... When you're with friend, lover or sister, you don't wear a mask, you're truly happy to see them... But I see all the time Ijekiel formal and uneasy with her.
This story of black magic, yeah she attract everyone ... Personnaly, I'm the only one who find this very horrible ? This is so ... Tragic ! People just love you because you have a sort of curse. This is NOT YOU, who is loved but the curse who provoke this attraction. It's terrible to live a life with the idea that people around aren't really attracted by the really you. This is just a sort of illusion, it's so hurting, I'm sorry but this "power" it's just a cursed and a promise to become mad ! Who really love you ? Who really love your mind, your body, your behviour... ? Personnaly I would become so ... Sad. You says this is a benediction but no, it's a curse because love is not magic, love is a construction, a meeting, we learn about each other... It's not something easy, if everyone is attracted to you because of black magic that's just a illusion... And the story prevent us : black magic is NOT good.
Worked very hard for obtain is how you obtain your real friend we see in this story Athanasia hasn't power like Jennette and yet her father, Ijekiel, Luca, Felix, Lily are ready to sacrifice their life for her, it's deep relation... In the contrary, Jennette she hasn't Luca, she hasn't Claude who are clearly hanted by Diane and her daughter... Jennette is just a substitute in this story, she only have artificial relations.

I'm sorry but yeah she perhaps sees Athy hurted but... Jennette is convinced that Claude is her father, he has only disdain for her ... Athy grown with love and at least one dad. Jennette really love her dad, and she must sacrifice her love to Athy who has whatever she wants ? I'm sorry but even Athy have "lost" his dad, he clearly likes her, if he takes Jennette with you it's only because he haven't Athy. And Athy has all people with her, Ijekiel, Luca (who will come back), Lily, Felix... Jennette has the chance to meet her father (yes this is not her father but I take her point of view) and to have other thing that disdain and you want that she sacrifices that because Athy has problem with her father ? Athy grows up with her father during 16 years. Jennette has meet her father 3 times. She didn't cry when he shows her only digust. It's just egoist if Athy fordib Jennette to see her father. Nobody can replace 16 years, even not Jennette. We know that. But Jennette can't sacrifice her happiness just to confort Athy's happiness. It's clearly what you ask for. I don't see where she hurts someone, why Athy didn't see her father face to face ? Because even Jennette was here, Claude can have two daughter, the reality and she is afraid to be put out because of Jennette but the real person put out is Jennette not her, and this is really blinded to see the reality. The novel is clearly inversed, Athy became the heroin she have all love of everyone and she is destined to be happy. But this is not the case of Jennette.

After this is not "Athanasia's past" the Athanasia and Jennette in the first is NOT our Athanasia and Jennette. That completely different persons ( I don't want to spoil you)
And I understand that Jennette become more "vilain" because sorry all is against her and specially when Claude will have recover his memory and Luca, Ijekiel will grows up. She will become less usefull to Ijekiel's father, and Athy will return to palace and will be with Luca and her father... Athy sorry but profit of her situation, she considers (without wanting that) Jennette like a tool, a company that she will forget after to have his father back.

I can see your point. I don't really think I'm asking her to not be happy, just be sure to don't make people unhappy in the process. Plus we perfectly know that Jeannette will not have a tragic ending. She's a white lotus and she will obviously obtain her happy ending. It's understandable that you pity her and see yourself in her if you have experienced similar feelings, but be aware of what are yours and what are her feelings.

I still don't think Athy stole anything from her because, let's be honest, you can't steal someone that's yours. In their past lives after she was killed, none of the characters were happy. Claude suffered both physically and mentally, Jeannette married Ijekiel and was controlled and brainwashed by her real father and Mr. White, Athy's maid was killed ecc... what I mean is, that is simply not Jeannette place. She for sure has to find her place in the world, but she can't just be a substitute for a role that is not even her's.

Oh I don't think Athy stole anything from her ! But Athy is clearly advantaged because she remember of her past, she is mature and intelligent. In some ways she understand how works Claude easily, she plays the role of the good daughter to save her life. While Jennette was just a child.
I repeat that this not their past lifes x) Ijekiel, Athanasia etc... In the first novel aren't our character actually. I don't want to spoil you, but the Jennette who is married to Ijekiel, is not the Jennette in our Mangas.
Yes she can't be a substitute I'm totally agree with you, because Athanasia will have her role and she can't this role...
Yes Jennette will have her happy end (I hope for her) but she will suffers and understand a lot of things that Claude is not her father, that Ijekiel only like her like a sister, that Mister White literally uses her... It's difficult.
Jennette is not my favorite character, I have a lot difficulties with beautiful and pure character like her because it's too perfect to be true... But I find her life sad and tragic, just that. ^^
