It's never said that their parents had an actual relationship though. Just that they didn't pursue the romance their kids had. Likely that Tasuke's dad liked Chi's dad but never really went after him

I thought when the author referred to the backstory it was a romantic one since they (including chitose’s father) were a bit flirtatious but it was never firmly stated so yeah you’re right.
I agree lol. Felt like the odd one out since everyone kept saying they love the parents and would like to see their back story. Im pretty sure they had a relationship though. The mangaka was vouching for it and even said there might be a side story some day. Since the mangaka's main focus is on yaoi and there is a possibility of a side story, the two are definately together at at least some point in their life
Yeah. It's still weird that the author did it this way as far as the parents go. I'd rather they had met for the first time and maybe Tasuke's dad thought that Chi's dad was beautiful.
She did say that they had a backstory she didn't flesh out. So maybe you're right. Either way, it obviously wasn't meant to be a happy ending
The thing with the dads is so weird. It’s like Tasuke’s and Chitose’s lives are just a replica of their parents’. No one is EXACTLY like their parents and the fact that their parents dated or presumably had sex is so extremely weird... imagine yourself living your parents’ life and dating the child of the person your parent had sex with and loved... that detail was just so unnecessary.
