From what I understand, Seolhyun is NOT a female lycan, but pretended to be one to attract Hwa's attention. The female scent used to attract Hwa, I believe, actually belonged to his "brother," who doesn't seem to be blood-related. Seolhyun, I believe, is a pure-blooded male lycan. And, from what was said in the most recent chapter, it seems as though Seolhyun was supposed to be a mate to his "brother" to make purebred lycans. And the reason why I think that is due to Ok Shinju's words "what was the point of you being in our house this whole time if you're now marked." Although I'm just paraphrasing that last sentence.

Seolhyun is the FEMALE LYCAN, however, he forgot. The elders, Ino himself erased that memory from him.
The brother is just a cover they raised to not let Seolhyun go with the person that he marked or marked him.
