I think it's more about the mental standpoint of people back in medieval times. Back then both teaching and discipline were the job of the tutors and governesses (nannies) rather than the parents.
That's why her parents don't actually punish the lady. Because teaching discipline and knowledge is her job. The real issue was her high and mighty attitude and how that interfered with her properly teaching good behavior. Other than that I guess the woman was really good at her job since the parents never fired her and even let her teach ALL of their children.
So, as someone with a 3 year old sibling I understand that they (you know, normal kids who weren’t reincarnated from an adult) can be a bit naughty and make you want to just squish their little cheeks until they behave.
However, that should be the job of the family not teachers. The mc here behaves herself, so I don’t see why the parents thought it’s acceptable to allow a stranger to hit their daughter. AND not punish her at all. (Like, if I walked up to an aristocrats 3 year old child and hit them I’d get locked up in prison.) And that bitch is not punished, and she continues teaching teaching her!!
I don’t see why the parents thought that their daughter needed an abusive teacher with how well she behaves herself.
