I think it would've been a whole lot better to use the verb/expression "like" instead of "love" to make it even more realistic, since "love" is something a bit more ahead.

    I guess it's because the words meaning "love" in Japanese have slightly different meanings.
    They still mean love, but different kinds.
    Idk, I haven't researched it, it's just from reading so much manga...

    yeah, when people say "suki" it's usually like, when they use "daisuki" can mean both like or love, and "aishiteru" means I love you in the most deepest way. I would like to know which one the author used in the original
