Certain stories require you to buy "ink" which is essentially like credits. You usually buy it with money but I heard recently that there has been an update where you can earn it instead. Haven't used tapas in a while so I can't guarantee this but you can always check!

I have tapas and its either you buy ink or watch videos. The videos are limitless and each gives you 10-50 ink. While buying with money is 2$ for 1,600 ink
Also each episodes varies but they are usually between 150- 350 ink
so to add on there are more prices for ink that are pretty affordable. I usually buy the 10$ set which has 10,500 ink.
Its onl6up to chapter 14 on tapas tho
