EXACTLY !!!! So many times, the Seme is just to much of an asshole and no character development can make me forget all the shit he has done.

OMG IKR!!!! People are happy because they finally have their happy ending, they're willing to forget all the abuse as long as they end up together in the end, not giving a damn if the relationship is toxic or not. Personally this type of trope makes me bitter. And, dare I say it... But it kinda feels like poor writing skills... If you portray the biggest asshole in the world and the only "character development" is him saying "I love you" as if having feelings could actually excuses the abuses and make me forget about a whole character's personality... sometimes i enjoy the story like in "legs that won't walk" it has that trope but its more in shadows and its more like a slow burn rather than an impulsive realization
