Sure, I get it. It's just always the same inconsistencies in every comic lately! You're right of course but I can't get it out of my head when they emulate every other aspect... More like... Academies where boys and girls study TOGETHER (like in modern France, there used to be a school for boys and one for girls even for commoners like really late in the 20th century) with girls wearing corsets but also uniforms (that's something there used to be in order to hide the class divided so... Not for nobles once again) showing their knees.
Don't take me wrong, I'm a normal 21st century woman and all but all these things get on your nerves after a while.
It's just that if it were once or twice, this type of setting "in another world" would be fine as an explanation but I kinda feel like with the sheer amount of these kinds of settings, the authors just don't know what they're talking about at all.
Sorry for the angry rant though, I still enjoy it but I would like to see an actual other world with other customs for once (like maybe the twelve kingdoms) not a badly made papier mâché facsimile of a Europe that never existed.
Though I admit it's unfair to put the twelve kingdoms in the same category here but still.
Bitch, it's a fantasy novel for another world. Other worlds have other rules, get over yourself. Just cause mangago writers don't follow what you think should be the right guidelines doesn't mean you were wronged. This isn't real life, it's obviously fiction, and they have the right to make the rules whatever they want. If you don't like it, either go make one yourself that you consider "better" or just fuck off and don't read it.
Excuse me. I think I was only expressing my opinion by clearly stating that it was a pet peace of mine. As I have insulted no one and have just given my opinion (as you must agree is completely acceptable and expected in the comment section), you have no right to insult me such. I will read and comment whatever I like and would rather not be insulted in the process. Thank you and good day
I have not insulted it, I have given my opinion on a trope that I see literally everywhere and that I find annoying. I have never said anything negative about the authors and have not insulted the work, just expressed that it's a shame because I actually like other aspect of the work. I wouldn't be reading otherwise. But criticizing something does not mean you don't like it or you are insulting it, it is just criticism.
Also, I am sorry but criticizing the work is not the same as criticizing a living person.
You can definitely tell me I'm wrong and what I'm saying is stupid and we could have a discussion about it, that' s why I'm publicizing my opinion. What you can't do is swear at me.
Also I wasn't telling you that you were wrong so much as I disagree with your way of thinking and saying things.in my opinion you were insulting the author.
If you spent some time painting in a similar style to "starry night" because you like the style, but a completely original picture, and someone told you it was stupid and a crappy spin off of "starry night" isn't that offensive?
I didn't mean it like that, more like I feel like I see this everywhere and it's fine when the setting is the otome game genre but I don't know, somehow I kinda expect better from it. I like reading isekai and historical type stories because of the world building and such and with this thing, I feel like it's a rehash of the same otome style thing even in non otome games. I just want more tension I guess. It's definitely just what I feel about the trope. I'm sure you also have some things you dislike in a story and this happens to be one of them for me.

Not sure how far the manga is bc it hasn't updated in a while, but the light novel adresses your concerns about the overreaction for insulting someone, and the Prince does suffer consequences, also the fl is smart and not lame

I have to take exception to the way noble society is represented. I don't know much about eastern society but since that is clearly following the European model (dressing style, morals, étiquette, food, names and so on) it always succeeds in pissing me off.
There is no way for someone to be stripped off their noble status without death as it was akin to a death sentence. Even then, nobody would expect a duke's daughter to become a maid, that is just ridiculous. A noble (and even a gentle man or gentle woman) should never be associated with trade or work as it was supposed to be a disgrace of the highest order. So now, you're telling me that because of a few comments, they demoted a duke's daughter into not only a commoner but a maid? I think it's really time for the authors to get an idea of how things actually worked back then because it's starting to get annoying for me, all these inconsistencies. It's just like a fan fiction at this point.
