Basically the whole time he was with the emperor he was drugged. The more you take it, the worst the side effects are. It caused his memory loss, loss of vision, and put him in a coma like sleep.
He doesn’t remember anything after leaving with his sister though. I thought the fighters were his family stealing him back? They def took him I thought at the end of the last one.
He was initially fake engaged to his bff’s girl because her father wouldn’t accept the boy and getting engaged to ML would prolong things instead of being married off to a stranger. Since his -almost- FIL was partially behind the attack, his family has lost its prestige I guess? The bff finally convinced the dad so now the real couple can get married.
