The king is definitely a good pawn for Eve to use if she plans to fight for the position of Crown Princess.
Seeing how he is easy to show favor and switch sides based on how useful they are to boost his own reputation, I don't think she would have that much of a hard time.

the tricky part about this is, there is really no true "enemy" in the war. it all just depends on each person's perspective.
even the instigators (the rules of the empire) all have their own circumstances. it's just up to the people to decide who is ultimately to blame --- in this case, they blame the sun knight.
it's funny how we also think, initially, that she is a cruel war freak. but as we read this story, we know there is more to her than we see on the surface. it's not that SHE changed, but it's US who formed a new impression because of what we are NOW seeing -- away from the stories of the war or the rumors.
It's hard to describe the story without dropping spoilers from the get go: but listen. The story explores the concept of love --- in many senses. A love that is portrayed to transcend many things. An immortal meeting a mortal, an encounter between different races, of different genders, of different statuses, of different circumstances.... What makes living beings precious? And what makes love and relationships so important? What makes a person happy?
This follows the perspective of different people: whose destinies intertwine one way or another.
Some stories are tragic, some are pure, some are happy, and others, bittersweet.
Things could get confusing and unpredictable; but nonetheless, the message being delivered ties it all together. These characters are just one of the many. If you are looking for a story that makes you think, then you are in the right place.
If only the father was more open with her, then none of these misunderstandings would have pilled up. It would be best if Juvel also confronted her father, although considering what she experienced before she died, it's completely understandable how she is acting right now. Not to mention, it's a fact that the father neglected her and did not fulfill his responsibility as her parent. "Being threatened by the emperor" doesn't justify it, since he had plenty of opportunities to AT LEAST show her that he cares. She is oblivious to the circumstances, and for good reason. In this case, she hasn't done anything wrong.
I know that the lack of communication (an understatement) is really frustrating, but for me it gives the story a consistent sense of tension and conflict. Hopefully the story won't drag too much, since there's a limit to how far you can push a character dynamic built on a misunderstanding.
First the father asks Mikhaelis to kiss his feet, now this pretentious loser is asking him to kiss her hand? What's next, the third princess asking him to kiss her as well??

The introduction and the story was REALLY compelling... but 30+ chapters in, it's the same old pattern every time. The chancellor and the king bantering, talking about Yeon, meeting with the prince... You can skip several chapters and you're still almost always at the same point in the story where you left it.
I'm glad the pace is picking up because of the candidacy, but honestly it feels like a lot of chapters are a chore to read because hardly any substantial is happening.
This is just my honest opinion, I can see how other people can appreciate a very casual (to put it positively) story where nothing much is going on yet. But yeah, as it stands, it seems this won't be my cup of tea.

My man Wis-trash had 10 years, and he lived with her for 7 ---- and yet, Joachim already treated her 100x better in their FIRST ENCOUNTER.
Forget about being a fiancee, he wasn't even acting like a decent PERSON with an OUNCE of respect towards Neveah all those years. She literally has to faint from an illness before he even bothers to look after her.
Now He's acting really guilty. And. YET. Oh. My. Gosh. Not a SINGLE, I repeat. SINGLE, word of apology for how he treated her (as of writing this comment). He even acts like HE'S the heartbroken victim in all of this.
Like...... ?????? He has the audacity to start get funny ideas to get himself back into Neveah's life when she clearly drew the line between them? No sir. You lost your entry permit ages ago.

If he even deserves another chance in romance since he is repenting (which I personally don't agree with as well) --- he should find another woman. Being clingy with Neveah NOW just further proves how he DOESN'T care about her feelings or her thoughts.
Neveah deserves a fresh new start where she will be surrounded by people who will love her and help her heal. That won't happen with Wis-trash. She accumulated too many emotional scars from being his fiancee for 10 f-ing years.
I can't wait for things to take a turn and become brighter. For all who've harmed her to be punished, and ofc a happily ever after. Ah ofc they have to get over that "no love" barrier . We all knew how it would turn out.
