The psychiatrist have proper methods to talk to the victim in a way that doesn't hurt them too much, while helping the police to search for clues that could be helpful to the investigation.
Oh btw he also couldn't be bothering a student at school, the victim would be properly called at the police station through his laywer to be involved in the case. If the mc wants, he could even sue the detective for looking for him at school lol

And if it's true, the victim could react strongly (like taking matters into their own hands) which could result in them losing their life. There's proper procedure in this kind of thing, especially when dealing with a victim who has PTSD
