So I was reading the comments and found that a lot of people hated ML for his response with the apology.
It's just. I can't really blame him, he was reaching out for MC for years and was pushed away many times. I understand her because I know as a reader, I know everything that happened, the reasons why she was depressed and why she acted that way to her own son. But ML don't know that because he can't read minds. My point is, it was there first time trying to communicate. You can't expect it to end smoothly. And expect ML to be "Oh, she apologized for being a bad mother, everything is okay because I love her" when it's nothing okay thou. I also wished he handled it better but well. Seriously, they're both emotionally haggard.
I'm not siding with anyone of the two. I'll just be neutral for now and stand with the son.

I think we shouldn't judge the ML yet. Please don't compare the ML and FL pain too. Even if he's a guy and can fight. He still went thru a lot. Sure, he's neglectful. But atleast he did not abused her nor cheated. They were basically strangers too before getting married. You can't really expect a lovey dovey moments or anything close to that, right.

I'm not saying he is innocent. I'm saying, he got a valid reason to atleast hold a little grudge and not treat MC with sweetness you expect from a "husband". That's why I'm saying, don't judge yet.
She didn't plot against him. Her brother did.
He never took the time to verify if she was in on the plot. He just made assumptions. They have been married for years now and it looks like he has never even asked her to explain her side of events. You'd think he'd ask questions about what was going while angry at least.
Think about it. What exactly would she have to gain by tricking him? Why would she condemn herself? He now treats her badly because he wrongly assumed that she tricked him after her brother publicly announced his scheme. They are married so she is at his mercy. If she tried for a divorce she wouldn't have a real title because her brother renounced the royal line. There is no escape.

Could we please not expect any attentiveness and expect some kind of indifference when it comes to marriage with no love. In the first place, that is why marrying with out love is not advisable.
We all know that she feels hurt like that because she loves him (I'm not saying it's wrong. They're married). She wouldn't feel like shit if she don't love him. She wouldn't bother being neglected by him (But I'd definitely be mad at the doctor and servant. And would most probably throw some water on them). But she loves him and feels guilty because of what her brother did. She wants even a little attention because she love him.
In the other hand, the ML don't love her (so far) and her brother betrayed him (his brother's a jerk btw). They never talked it out. They never had a proper conversation. And so far, the ML looks someone who detest traitors.
So again, what I'm saying is: I understand the pain of the MC. I, myself, would also feel shit and hurt as fuck. And definitely mad at my brother (like he could have atleast told me beforehand but he didn't. There goes how little he think she is). BUT I also understand the pain of the ML. Just how little do you think I am to betray and humiliate me (to the brother) and yeah. If it was also me, I'd be indifferent with the MC too. Like how I know if she's really innocent and not acting just to gain my sympathy. I don't know her. She's basically a stranger. (Something along the line)
