I couldn't think of anything after M surpasses J, but if J vanished just like that then M will forever obsess over him. And i think J deserves his ending and i say this not in cruelty but with sympathy. He was lonely isn't he, i think he deserves to rest.

Tbh when i first read the novel, i held a bit of sympathy for eclis because he was used right? But once I reread the novel, I'm all for Penelope's actions. It's not like Eclis was exploited or smth. He ignored and forgot about him for days, kept him exactly like a dog. She just used him. And he did too and I think that's fair. He lost everything and got mad. Everyone would.
