for his relationship with the emperor, honestly there was very slow progress cuz he was sent to another place to solve some problem there, so there wasn't much interaction between the emperor, the prince of yu and mc
yes towards the end of the novel, all the mls sort of forced him to choose any one of them and since mc kinda fell in love with all of them(kinda Stockholm syndrome for some) and mc drank a poison to like die than choose between any since it wouldn't be fair for them as mc wouldn't be able to give all his love to just one, they all panicked and tried to save him , they succeeded and they all decided not to force him anymore and like were all together
