This is one of those manga where I feel like it's much better on your second read. Whether it's the motives, the minute micro-expressions on characters, the cut off dialogues- a lot more nuance is here than what you see at first glance.
That said, I'm definitely iffy with the Queen's relationship with Pryde. It's good to see her guilt, but I also want to see some relationship development and an actual apology, if that makes sense.
It's a very slow burn relationship development with the Queen, sadly. The novel says they meet more after this, but by the time Pryde's 16 she still feels it's a monarch/subject relationship. But there IS an apology, and they work on their relationship after that. (Though the Queen still doesn't get much screen time.)

I'll never understand why rejection is so hard to grasp for some people / characters
Inr... so she cant have him. He would rather die lol (funny btw) so she said if she isnt around it's ok. Is she dumb? She thinks if she killed his wife he would then marry her... this storyline is just a tad...ridiculous
it's okay you can say the storyline doesn't have any braincells
I think it's more like
"If I can't have him, at least she can’t have him either."
Connected with (a little bit of) delusional hope that she might have chance with him then. Her EQ is quite low since she has been spoiled rotten since childhood and there probably hasn't been anything she couldn't get as long as she wanted it. It kind of feels like she thinks of him like a thing she can just possess, not like a person with his own will and feelings.
I don't really think it makes the storyline crazy - it's just a crazy chara^^
You are right. It's the character that is crazy and clearly so, even shown in the last update. Yeah that spoilt rotten and utterly selfish mentality of hers is something that needs to be put down asap. I'm hoping she gets some karma thrown in her face very soon.
