I’m so confused on why one of the top comments is hating on the found family troupe when it comes to guys as fathers why are we pretending like the MC/ML is coerced into becoming a father? Not to mention maybe, just maybe, romance isn’t everything?? Most of the single father family manhwas have an ML who isn’t interested in romance; it’s not that he’s sacrificing his love life for a child he found/adopted, but it was never in the plan in the first place. It blows my mind on how that comment was voted to the top when it just hates on a nonproblematic, slice of life troupe.
I honestly feel like that one SA scene was completely unnecessary. There were so many other scenarios that could’ve happened to push Jinhyeong into talking to Uyun and admitting he needs help, like Jinhyeong getting drunk and then they get into a fight and Jinhyeong getting honest because he’s drunk and emotional, or Jinhyeong fainting out of exhaustion and they get into a fight because Uyun’s worried while Jinhyeong’s testy and tired.
That SA scene just came out of nowhere and honestly completely changed the entire story’s vibe and Jinhyeong’s character for me. It feels like the SA was used as a plot device to push the character development/plot and give a reason why Jinhyeong would volunteer to bottom as an originally straight dude???
I both adore and resent the first story. I love the storytelling and how they portrayed the hurt and angst, it’s so sad in a good way, but I can’t stop thinking about how the king only cherishes and remembers his concubine whenever he didn’t have much. Like he was his backup whenever he failed or something. The point of the king ending up in the same place he began was super poetic and great for the story’s themes, but it made the romance bittersweet. Like you can take it one of two ways, the king views his concubine as the safe backup option or as his home that he eventually returns to.
I liked the canary one, some angst creeping up but ML comes and he’s great. I loved MC’s fluffy af ears(?)

The ending was so incredibly rushed?? I mean, most of the story was, but it got even more rushed near the end. We never even got to see actual romance with an established relationship :(
