I believe its like, Shinnie is an awakened dominant alpha now but he used to be an alpha that wasn't displaying any alpha traits or characteristics which is why his father initially gave up on him and basically handed him off to his grandfather. Yeonwoo awakened Shinnie's true alpha nature so Shinnie displays all the alpha characteristics he didn't before and more. Hope this makes a little sense
