Hmm... There seems to be a lot of people with really mixed feelings about the story playing out.

From the beginning, there wasn’t a lot of context about the events prior to the initial timeline. Since there wasn’t a lot of information, it’s easy to see how everyone just straight up hated Ruvel. Let’s be perfectly honest. Most of you didn’t even bother thinking about why someone might act the way they do, simply because humans like to assume situations. (Isn’t that why communication and withholding biases is important...) I’m not saying his actions can be disregarded, but we have to keep in mind that our perspectives of the story changes as we gather more information.

Tia’s initial character was solely based around what she believed the people around her expected from her. (Her father wanting a docile, independent, capable child for example.) She attempted to learn why the prince disliked her, but she didn’t ask him from the get go initially. Since she learned about the prince through trial and error, she never considered that his dislike for her was something deeper. (Most people would hate being constantly compared to another person, and outright frustrated for not being able to match the expectations that was unjustly placed upon them.) If you look back on the first timeline, there were several different approaches she could have taken with the problems presented to her. She didn’t have to accept Ruvel’s attention, nor did she have to remain in the palace as a queen. If she really wanted to, she could have asked someone to help her disappear from the entire country and live as a ghost. (It probably would have been a lot easier if she threw away her pride and lived as a commoner.) HOWEVER. If she responded in a different manner, we wouldn’t even have the current story we’re presented today.

The thing that makes this story enjoyable is Tia’s character growth from the initial timeline. She stops trying to set unrealistic expectations upon herself and starts to really acknowledge that she has loving people around her. Most of her actions are driven by her unwillingness to relive the initial life because she deemed it as a mistake. (Being realistic, that’s the basis of every single time travel/parallel universe/reincarnation story that exists.) The manner in which she approaches the new, unfamiliar events makes the story.

Similarly, Ruvel’s character has changed in response to Tia’s actions. He became intrigued to find out why she avoided him and why she responded to him in the manners that she did. He no longer assumed that she was the cause of his neglect and the cause of death of the only person who seemed to love and care for him. This information that he gathered changed him from the initial timeline person. He was mature when he found out Tia’s reason for her avoidance. He didn’t come up to her and press for more information about what had happened, but instead resolved to woo her properly. If he was still the same person, he probably would have just used that information as leverage against her. (For example, if he hated her he could have threatened Tia to stay by his side or else he would kill her father.)

Tia’s responses to the princesses that appeared for Foundation day were simply aligned with her knowledge of the kingdoms, the potential outcomes of her interactions with them, and her personal values. (The values have obviously drastically changed from the initial storyline. It went from honor of being a queen/empress, getting Ruvel’s love and attention, solitude, independence, etc. to familial love, knight’s honor, personal happiness, etc.) Although it may seem like she should have stood up for herself, she wasn’t selfish and immature to the events occurring. She thought of the legal consequences of the different actions she could have taken, and responded in the manner that she did.

Although, I personally would have liked to see Tia with Allendis. Simply because he was the person who convinced her to be more self loving and that she could trust the people around her. Despite this, I can still definitely see happy endings with all the male love interests of the story. (Maybe not Allendis since he’ll most likely be caught for treason... tears... but without this element the story probably wouldn’t be able to proceed...)

All in all, this story has been really well thought out. It would definitely be more difficult for younger audiences / audiences that don’t pay attention to the little details to enjoy how the story is playing out. I hope that this comment is able to appease most people but I’m honestly expecting it to just be buried by all the other comments.
