Honestly it’s frustrating how many talks start messed up but then get super cute and wholesome later. Why is this genre like this…

That is true! I have like half of my homepage here with that kind of plot! Its infatuating that we have to come in to the point yaoi stories should have a redemption arc. can't we just have a dramatic plot yaoi without making an ML have to go extensive toxicity and abusive manner towards MC for a dramatic plot (?).

but what can we do, all this shi yaoi have something that we seek! A good art! Prettay characters! dialogues! authors basically how to sell them and their characters!! ╥﹏╥

I have weird tastes, but I have to warn you that the first few chapters are not good, in a sense that it involves unconsensual acts towards Yu (the bottom). The top also has this underlying issue, so the first parts doesn't go well, also fucked up. The story shifted so fast without much redemption or grounded to reality change to make up for what happened to Yu, so I understand the criticisms. The author could have plotted the story in a way they can give justice for Yu and all. So far, the current chapters shows all lovey dovey couple without those unconsensual acts so it's all good and cute.
