Looking at some of the other comments, i just think that sometimes discussions of characterization should move past “who was in the wrong/right.” There’s so much stuff being discussed through the characters and plot that focusing on morality feels kinda reductive lol
Yeah the situation is supposed to be blurry it's kinda pointless to discuss who was in the wrong because they're both flawed, I'd much rather analyze the intent. Like why did Rik want to be his family and why did he think bullying him would do himself any favors
As if putting the blame one someone would be any more productive that outlining solutions.
