Then Satoko was sold and married, and then she started to send letters to Shinpei. Or maybe that last letter was the only letter she could write to him before dying because of her illness. And Shinpei re-reads the same letter, over and over again, because is the last thing Satoko gave him.

Lmao, why is everyone hating on JJ? I won't defend him for what he did in the warehouse, but damn, you must be freaking crazy if you think anyone can treat their partner like shit and said partner will stay there. JJ did, in fact, stay, for years, treated like an accessory, but he must have held in there because he did love Leo.
And don't come talk shit about how he should have been more communicative. Hell, you see how Leo never cared. JJ told him stuff, and he never bothered to remember. Even in this chapter you see how JJ asked to go on a trip together but giving him time and attention wasn't on Leo's schedule. Even in ch 1, Leo was angry at JJ for choosing to leave their apartment but JJ did, in fact, tell him about it, he just didn't care. And when your partner doesn't care, and when your problems and ideas become troublesome for them, maybe because you want to stay with them you start to speak up less, because you grow tired of being ignored even when you do talk.
You just realize one day that where you are with that person you love, is not good for you, and you decide /you/ are more important than the love you have for them.

Honestly, I’m on neither side. Sometimes it takes losing someone to realize you love them, and people change based off of the experiences they’ve gone through. I don’t think either of them are ‘bad’ people. Leo’s about to get a harsh life lesson, but that will hopefully be what makes him grow. As for J.J., I can’t tell if he’ll learn to communicate more or not, but I hope he learned stuff as well: such as to not put up with being treated poorly, and conflict resolution. He didn’t have to just leave either, he could’ve tried to tell Leo straight out specifically what he wasn’t okay with. I’m glad he left the relationship, but in the future, I hope he comes to understand how to approach someone when they’re treating him like that.
It’s not that he should have stayed longer and tried harder. It’s 100% that JJ knows Leo is the type of person who needs to be overly explicitly told things but JJ didn’t have the patience or understanding needed to actually express those things to Leo and instead chose to just be an asshole about it. It’s fine if JJ doesn’t have the patience needed to be in a relationship with someone who thinks like Leo, not everyone does. However, if JJ wasn’t going to at the very least explain to Leo why he was leaving then as the bare minimum for behaving like a decent human being JJ should not have fucked Leo on a warehouse floor like he was raping Leo and then proceed to leave Leo there bruised and naked. JJ isn’t getting hate for standing up for himself and leaving a relationship that wasn’t good for him. He’s getting hate because of HOW he’s leaving the relationship and how he’s treating Leo. If JJ wanted to leave without having a decent breakup conversation then he should have just left with a clean break instead of emotionally, and basically physically, abusing Leo while doing it.

JJ could have given closure to the relationship, yes. But I think it's okay not to when the relationship is just like theirs, and not for months, I'm talking about years.
As someone who was a fool in a relationship of three years, knowing the other person didn't care that much, I do understand JJ's reasoning of not giving closure. I did wake up one day, talk to the other person, realized once again they didn't care and chose to go no contact, yeah, suddenly, like that. And you know what? They never bothered to reach out.
It's obvious, though, Leo does care. He did contact. He just had the whole wrong mindset about it, thinking that what he needs is JJ's dick and not his presence in his life, so big L for him on that.
