I loved the amount of world-building that went into this story, but goodness I really wished it could have been more fleshed out. The romance between the two main characters, jing ye and an nuo, though intense, seemed rushed. Like day one they were strangers, enemies even and 30+ chaps in one had their dick stuck up the other's ass like???
This was beautiful, and the story of the grandfathers conveyed the hearybreak and tragedy that many in the lgbtq+ community face, especially in conservative societies and cultures.
Love the authentic, gradual way that Gensuke and Sogarou's relationship developed, and how they are each other's greatest strength in a world that actively opposes them.
As a plus, the art is so beautiful and cinematic, bringing Kabuki to life within its pages. Easily one of my favourite stories!
