I think legally, the king can either have only one legal wife and then concubines, or he can have multiple wives but the first wife will be the empress. The rest would be secondary queens or something. Lezhin has a lock too. If can read the 1st few chapters for free, but other chapters won't let you read. A pop-up venster would usually show. This would mean that you need to pay for the rest of the chapter. (I don't understand a single word Chinese nor Korean)
It would be similar for any kind of sites in any language that has locked chapters, even Lezhin you need to sign in and then pay for locked chapters.
