I might have sound harsh srry but as you said, each country may have a different mindset. Tbh, in France, between friends you can share your opinion to this extent, it's greatly appreciated and means you care about your friend well-being. But, there's a limit too, and the limit is easily reached when it comes to someone you hardly know.
Sometimes it's nice to have an objective opinion coming from your friend.
