I’m another scanlator on this website, so I just kinda wanted to say my opinion after I stumbled upon this manga. I work with a group but I also do solo projects (I CLRD, translate, typeset). I used to upload Renta titles as well but stopped cause of reasons. This comment section is filled with different opinions so I thought it would be fun to have a scanlator’s opinion thrown in.

1) On the topic of notices: they are..... weird. I’ve never seen anyone go ‘hey guys I’m calling this manga and will update later’. It’s fine if it’s just one person (maybe), but I think if scan groups did that it would be chaos, tens of new manga, all no content just ‘will update later’. I get (and appreciate) that the Uploader was trying to spread awareness but....... it’s kinda weird and I don’t know how I feel about it, as a reader AND a scanlator. Now with mangago’s new instant uploading system, mangas/webtoons are getting all these ‘notices/extras’ chapters from uploaders saying someone uploaded over them/sorry for uploading over them, etc. It sucks cause other scanlators work are getting pushed off the front page by false updates

2) On the topic of renta. A rule in scanlation is to not touch anything that has been licensed. Just because of morality reasons and we know we’re taking away from oversees sales so the least we can do is stop when it’s licensed. Also....... nearly no translator wants to have their translation compared to the official English one and have all the tl mistakes pointed out. VERY embarrassing . A little counterproductive too.

But the weirdest thing to me is the Uploader ‘took’ the first pages of the English Renta preview??? Like they started translating after the preview??? So they knew the English version existed and instead of posting that they tried to tl?? That’s just weird to me, that you know there’s a better version out there but you still want show everyone yours. Also.... if it’s a retranslation you’re supposed to keep the credit pages of the Spanish group after asking permission???

I guess in the end, I don’t really know how to feel, other than I know it feels weird. As a scanlator I’m like all like ‘notices are frustrating for the reader experience, if you can’t typeset/tl don’t put out a chapter that looks and sounds bad, don’t retranslate without permission, it’s a rule not to scan/upload licensed stuff’, but on the other hand as a reader I’m like ‘legit I’m grateful for anything I can get, as long as the work is understandable I’m happy’

This is a short summary between the brothers if any of you need more context about them as I have read the raws and some of novel reviews. Their mom had an affair with her husband’s father (Juin’s uncle/Juyul’s father) and had Juyul. She still stayed with Juin’s father but Juyul started to read thoughts and told his dad if he know the name which I forget of their uncle and the dad told him where did he learn of that name and he said their mother. Their dad then believed that both of his kids are not his and abused them badly including his wife. Their mom hated Juyul b/c in her mind this is all Juyul’s fault and shows more affection towards Juin and ignores Juyul. Juin gave brotherly love towards Juyul which Juyul confused it as actual love b/c it was something his parents were not giving him. Before he would be sent to the mental hospital he confessed to Juin that he loved him and to run away together but Juin refused and said he was confusing that love. Juyul then asked during that time which is a year he is in the mental hospital to decide if he will love him back or not. The reader can only assume that Juin said no and Juyul couldn’t accept that. The parents find out and save Juin, but what’s fucked up is the father blames Juin for not defending himself as he is the eldest and was gonna beat him but Juyul protected him and called out his parents for the shitty parenting. The father then decided to put both at them at the hospital but Juin was saved b/c his he was sent to the hospital for his injuiries and Juyul with his parents to mental hospital, but were in an accident which both the parents died and Juyul disappeared until now.

SO the auther got mad and hired a hitman and posted uploaders personal information illegally... WHAT THE FUCK
And she also harassed her readers even it was legal once ??????.
Okey authors can get mad but this is way too much.

I want to help yall understand whats happening because I remember there was alot of confusion when Chapter 21 came out. I recommend reading the novel because it will help you understand everything better. but if you dont want to read the novel heres what happened in it, since it more detailed on writing :)
Remember what I will be writng what happened in the NOVEL (its more detailed), Here in the manga they tend to rush things which leads to making many people confused as to what is happened.

So in the manga, Minjoon is Korean whole everyone else in the story is Japanese. Minjoon is a university student who is studying abroad in Japan (This is why he was in the maids outfit when Touma took the picture of him, and in chapter 21, Minjoon said something in korean which resulted in Daiki asking what language he was speaking since Daiki and Minjoon had been only ever communicated in Japanese). Minjoon was speaking in Korean to Daiki while they are doing it and Daiki (in the novel) asked him what he is saying (Since Daiki "only" speaks Japanese, so he doesnt understand minjoon), but Minjoon will lie to him and say it means something else.

Then one day Daiki will ask Minjoon what he was saying in his sleep. What Minjoon said in his sleep is stuff like "asshole" and "ill kill you Daiki" but in korean. Minjoon notices that Daiki's korean pronunciations are really good and ask if Daiki knows korean. Daikis tells minjoon that he is also part korean.

Then Minjoon will be mad at Daiki for a bit because Daiki let Minjoon embarrass himself.

I just want everyone to remember that Minjoon is Korean, and that the story takes place in Japan where everyone speaks Japanese :) I remember when chapter 21 came out, Minjoon was speaking in Korean to Daiki but the translator didnt put a T/N that said Minjoon was speaking in korean, while the story takes place using Japanese. So this made everyone in the comments confused since many hadnt read the novel, so they had were clueless as to what language was being spoken.
Please read the novel, a fan is translating it from its original language to english for free! The novel will help you understand the story SO MUCH better, and the manga leaves out a lot of important things from the novel that werent added to the manga. Heres the link:
