Up until now he can hide behind proper heir and older brother conduct to protect his sister’s honor until her marriage. That may be why the father didn’t bat an eye when he protected her, must think his son is thinking of the Baldemar reputation (HAH). And now it’s shown when he plans for them to ELOPE.
He’s not one to go on without a plan and hes no idiot. He could’ve pleaded to his father for her case, whose to say he didn’t secretly enjoy having her confined and “pure” form the exterior world? Mc loves him. In a way, she has no other choice.
This just reminds me so much of the relationship between siblings in flowers of evil. (Great read btw) and that’s it: I don’t trust Johannes, I think his love is bad for the mc, but it will be up to her if she wants to embrace it (if her loves strong enough or grows to be so) or reject him
I totally agree with you!!! Johannes is possessive af and will do anything for her sister also for him to have her but since the relationship is taboo, he's been the one doing shit behind the scenes. And it seems to me that he's been crushing hard for her ever since they were kids.

Of course he’d have appeared before as cute and golden and tried to make her leave with him snd then getting more demanding and demanding or her having this sort of warning of when he’d come to take her and giving her time to well write the story . IDK ! I JSUT LVOE THE STORY SO MUCHH
