I don't get why people are hating on this. All the characters have depth and aren't randomly woke or amazing just because they are the main characters. Ml hates aristocrats so he obviously won't treat her well, it would be weird if he suddenly did treat her truly well, it would contradict his character especially so early in the story. And Fl personality fits her surroundings, she has been protected all her life, of course she's not the typical strong fl we love, it would be out of character if she was strong.
This story has a really good base line (it isn't shallow) and set up the characters well for good development and conflict. It's a slow burner but if done right, this can be a master piece in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I also wrote that she should breakup with him and date someone else because it's toxic for everyone. I said she is consumed by jealousy and can turn ugly from it.
Also her being insecure and bullying the female friend could show that she has low self esteem and need someone to truly love her as she is and support her, which is something her current boyfriend is not doing for her. I'm not saying what she is doing is okay but she is a victim in a sense where she is caught in a bad relationship and she needs to get out of it.
Plus breaking up with someone is not that easy. Even we get attached to fictional relationships and feel pain when they fight or breakup. I bet the people in the actual relationship find it even harder to split up because they hold on to the good memories. Yes, no one is forcing her to stay in the relationship but she probably can't let go of the happiness she felt with him. It probably will take some time before she realize she needs to stop her toxic actions and move on to be a better person.

Maybe the title is talking about her relationship with her mom. It is a story about the things that happened while her mom is away which symbolizes their relationship is rocky or practical over. So it's while she and her mom "broke up", she learns about new things, has character development and learns her mom side of the story and they come to be a happy family in the end because "while we broke up" feels like a phrase that shows they have got back together.
When you come in thinking it's going to be bad but find it actually decently well done.
