im in my freshman year of college and i feel so weird to be reading this theyre 15 year olds for gods sake
can grown ass authors start making more college and work place stories instead of high school ones
Maybe. But the intention matters. And as bad as this may sound, anime and manga have always been mostly about teens. Even the r18 ones. You can't ostracise this single mangaka when everyone is doing it the same way. And like I already said, intention matters. Based on the story, do you think the author made this because they wanted to see teen boys screwing? No. They wanted to make a cute story set in high-school. And they're a yaoi mangaka. Ofc there's sex in this. But it doesn't feel predatory because imo their intentions are clear. If you're uncomfortable with stuff like this, I suggest you avoid any BL manga set in high-school, unless it's labelled as shounen ai. Check the tags. Avoid the yaoi tag.
Sex isn't inherently a bad thing. I agree it shouldn't be normal, but most teen shows still show sex between teens. Euphoria for example. I'd say that is inherently worse as it features real people. And paskim? There are a million better examples you could have chosen as an example of a "cute story about teenagers" but you chose the manhwa where said characters beat up each other and are frequently toxic. These two are 1000 times a more healthy couple than that. All I was trying to say was, why are you surprised a YAOI manga has YAOI? avoid the yaoi tag with a high-school theme from now on, and you won't be uncomfortable. And I've been watching/reading anime and manga since I was 10. Unfortunately, a lot of things have become "normal" to me as a result. There are many things wrong with the anime and manga industry. Sex between two consenting teenagers in a cute story is not one of them.
For sure! But our conversation seems to be going nowhere. It doesn't look like we'll see eye to eye on this. I would have a problem with this too of I sense this was predatory in any way. But in my opinion, it doesn't feel that way. And healthy sex between teenagers is just as important of a representation. But even I wouldn't wanna see it if it was real people acting it out. Drawings on a paper and real people acting has different nuances to it. But ofc, just because they're drawings on a paper, doesn't mean they can get away with drawing anything. Such as pedophilic content. But the characters in this story do not look like children, and it's all shown in a healthy and respectful way in my opinion. If you feel another way, that's understandable too. Hence why I was suggesting you things to look out for.
And also, sure, violence does have age limits. Many things can be labelled as r18 cause of the violence. If you're trying to say teens fight, then by that logic, teens have sex too so what's your point? And encouraging violence among teenagers isn't a very good thing either. But these are two entirely different topics. Lost in the clouds and Golden Sparkle simply can't be compared because of how vastly different they are in terms of genre. BL is just a label to denote mlm.
Suzumaru Minta also has a few other comics that feature adults. I suggest you check those out instead of this if this makes you uncomfortable. Cupid ni Rakurai is also a fave of mine among her other works and is simply a masterpiece, and you'd be missing out if you didn't read it, but it's also set in high-school so it probably wouldn't make you feel comfortable. You might like Koi wo suru tsumori wa nakatta though!
I get what you're saying but this is fiction, will you also say that to writers of serial killers? Teenagers on that age are extremely curious to sex, will you also tell those philosophers/psychologist that they're weird for saying "it's a norm for teenagers undergoing puberty to be curious about sex" because you're sounding really stupid to me. Both guys of this manga consented and the main theme is LITERALLY ABOUT MASTURBATING who teenagers don't masturbate on that fucking age? Look at me straight in the eye and tell me "I don't masturbate on that age" and I will believe you. "it's so weirdddd" then fuck off and read another manga.
ppl need to stop doing mental gymnastics to support and defend weird shit
also i hate the "its fiction/theyre 2d" etc arguments like... that doesnt make it any less off putting
you wouldn't read a story about a mother and her son having sex or other more disturbing themes would you? it's still fiction though but that doesn't stop you from disliking it
https://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/romance_but_not_romantic/ This is definitely one of my favs. Omegaverse with a green flag couple set in the office ^_^ i cannot recommend it enough, lmk ur thoughts!
ppl see a concept like this and lose any critical thinking skills, they see anything with an interesting concept as this flawless work and dont see how cliché, underdevelopped, boring and messy it is
i thought this work was all over the place in an attempt to seem deeper and ive read way better mangas that dont tell the reader everything and were well executed and this wasnt one of them it was very lacking and didnt convey anything nor did it provide substance or a plot thrilling enough to let its other flaws slide
idk why im ranting sm its just that everyone praising it is so annoying
im not saying ppl cant enjoy it but pls stop overhyping it

this is the first time caesar has actually put me off
i wasn't weirded out even when he shot him or slit his own throat or drugged him but this is doing it for me idk why i find this the most disturbing thing hes done
Raping someone with a limp dick just to prove a point. That takes the cake damn
