I was annoyed with Riftan before for constantly treating her like she was extremely fragile and couldn't do anything but in this case I totally understand him. Imagine how nerve racking it must be traveling days through difficult terrain and monster ambushes with your inexperienced wife whilst still having to manage the lives of other countless soldiers. I can understand both sides in this case. Maxi wants to prove she can be of help to him bc she cares for him, and Riftan is worried about her safety and just wants her to live comfortably he cares for her. But obviously Riftan needs to work on how he expresses that lmao
