Tong Yang wants to get smarter/raise his school rank so he can remain at the school but doesn't want to be overbearing and ask Xiao Zhen for help. XZ heard from their teacher about TY having "problems" and said he didn't want to hear about TY from others (meaning he wants TY to share his troubles/worries with him and to be relied on). TY accidently hangs up on him after ZX's roomate appears in background of the phone call. This was their "fight" that the roomate refers to in the new chapters
