Comparing the movie to this web comic, I think that they have the same concept but the story is pretty much different.
In the movie, the wife is a hardcore tomboy who doesn't really like the husband, and was just "forced" to marry the husband because of her dying sister's wish. In this web comic, my first impression is that they liked each other..or at least the wife really tries to be a wife...
Aside from the derpy husband, the other characters are different.
The movie had more "realistic" characters, while this webcomic has a more "beautiful" cast.. ( Most of the time, I feel that having too many "beautiful" characters is overkill)
(on a side note, the movie wife had a flat chest. while this wife has big ass boobs...)
This webcomic probably doesn't have any connection with the movie because the movie is korean and this webcomic is chinese.

I did! It is a pretty funny action movie, but it is really more of action/drama. It revolves around the wife being a gangster rather than the non-existent romance between the husband and wife. in the end, it felt like the normal derpy husband was just a foil to show how badass the wife is..

yeah, it is a different story. It's just that people keep mentioning the movie and I assume that what they are referring to is the korean movie, "my wife is a gangster." but as I said, even both of them have the same name and same premise, "gangster wife and normal husband," they are still 2 completely different things.
It actually has three parts, but the last part doesn't really concern the first two movies. I haven't watched that one, but I did see the trailer... idk.. I think it would've been better if they used the same heroine. because then they could've just made a different movie.
(then again, it was a good ploy to capitalize on the popular franchise instead of hoping that a new gangster movie of the same premise would still garner the same effect as the original)

this manga is so confusing. there is too many characters with unclear backgrounds and goals. they make so many decisions that don't really make any sense for readers. POVs and stories jumps from one point to another. new characters keep popping up without any explanation at all. their relationship is blurry to the point of it being all over the place. No one is really doing anything to push the manga forward. The story and goal is unclear. they have too many "secrets". the main characters aren't really convincing. I'm in chapter 18 and there's already more than 10 characters with unclear motives and relationships. the supposed main characters seem to not even be that significant. I mean yeah, the story revolves around them, but they don't seem to be doing anything about it.

I'm planning on reading the light novel however, I don't know where to start.. Does anyone know which vol & chapter the latest manga update is in reference to the light novel?
there is like 48 vols. already, and I doubt I'll find the chapter I'm looking for.
I'd say just start from the beginning, never hurts to reread what you've already been through lol. Might even be some more info not in the webtoon c:

Today I marathoned the manhwa until chapter 94, then start the novel from the beginning. If there's no different arc/chapter placement, then it's volume 4 chapter 4. This manhwa still have long long way to go to reach the almost 50 volumes novel unless they do arc/time skip.
oddly enough, I started reading it just yesterday.. haha! I was really suprised when the manga was actually still at vol. 4. a lot of pretty cool stuff has already happened but apparently, this was just an appetizer! I'm currently at vol. 7. :)
I hope they don't do any time skip though. LMS is really about his adventures and how his legend is made. I wonder how many years we'll have to wait for the manga to finish. haha!
