The FMC Hildegar is a war criminal, isn't she?
Her ML saved her more than once and she caused the downfall of his people...
Why should we even sympathize with her again?
Wasn't it because she was forced into this since she was a kid by older figures that captured her as her mom was killed by soldiers, older figures that were taunting her with the release of her tribe only to find out they never kept their promise, and that the only older figure she was safe around was the one that agreed with sending her tribe to be enslaved? No one is saying she isn't a killer, she realizes that herself in the new chapter, but if you were taught wrong, you're gonna do wrong. I wouldn't have sympathized with her if she hadn't been roped into this. Also, the ML doesnt have to forgive her, it's fine. I only keep up w the latest chapters so I might've forgotten stuff from the earliest ones.
Everything was taken away from her. She was betrayed multiple times and used as a puppet to kill people in such a young age. Her past haunts her to this day and she isn't even that old yet.
She didnt cause the downfall of the other countries it its the king who caused everything. She wouldn't need to join the war if the king didn't force her in exchange of her people. She and the others wouldn't have been dragged away from their land if the king didn't desire the power of the gods.

There are some infos based in the OG Novel you can find on the website Novel Updates.
I feel really uncomfortable to see a FL getting a ML whom she raised (with Edward) into a healthy strong man...
Can I really suddenly unexpectedly fall in love with someone since I know and took care of them when they were very little children??? Even if they have big feelings for me...
Yes, she is immortal and her time functions differently than any mortals but it is quite very awkward/bizaare that you get into a relationship with your former foster child...
I had the same issue with Sesshomaru and Rin in Inuyasha. ( ̄∇ ̄")
I still remember the manga/anima Usagi Drop about a 30 year old man adopting hesitantly a six year old orphan girl...
And I was shocked that at the end of the story after ten years she suddenly confesses her love for him and he accepted it (⊙…⊙ ) I was perplexed...
Nobody felt uncomfortable with Lisa & Dracula in Netflix Castlevania because when they met for the first time she was already a young grown mature adult woman and he didn't act as a parental figure to her.
It is all about context and how balanced the power dynamic is!

Everyone bad has to be obsessed with and blame the FL/FMC for their misery constantly.
And I also don't like that the author gave the homewrecker antagonist the backstory of being raped/sexually assaulted in the past....
It's like 'Fatal Attraction' all over again.
same it was the same thing that happened in another story where the antagonist got raped by her stepbrother and her stepmom saw but didn't care to stop him, and her obsession with the male lead was her obsessing over control and security, and that's why she had so much hate for the fl, I honestly felt sorry for her, she was actually not a naturally bad person like how the story depicted her but she was a warped person like Saikawa, anyone can see she's mental and it's a result of her experiences, we shouldn't excuse their actions but we should know exactly what were looking at
Because that actually happens irl? it's trauma grow up. no one comforted her I'm suprised she didn't kill herself that day
If you remember the story you mentioned, could you please give us the title? Thank you
Lady to queen, I'm talking about the antagonist redhead
