Was it very necessary that the spoiled prince and Melissa's half-brother started to like her? They don't become stereotypically illogically obsessed with her but it personally doesn't really sit right with me that they now develop affections for Melissa after she mercilessly destroyed their egos :) BEST MOMENTS EVER

In "The Pet of the Villainess" many characters like Sasha because she emotionally supports, empowers and uplifts them. At some point she started to share her worries and show her vulnerbilities which tighten naturally her bond/friendship with them.

Compared to other emotionally dependent Wolf MLs who are bought broken slaves in other Villainess Stories, he seems rather sane enough.
I ve seen Beast MLs who either becomes a total simp that wants willingly stays as abused pet/slave to his master or becomes so obessed with the villainous FL that he betrays her because she didn't reciprocated his feelings... Both aspects are quite problematic...

There are rip-offs or attemps to showcase sth similar but they often end up into tropey or cliche plots:
A super hot immature manchild either a hidden prince or a duke with a tragic backstory becomes obsessed with her and the FL returns his affections - also she becomes flustered + clumsy in front of him, that ML is suddenly easily stronger than her, other assholes becomes interested in her, there is always a devoted maid for the FL or butler for the ML or former slaves for both who have no life on their own, evil jealous bitches because the most desirable prince/duke/knight is interested in the actual most pretty FL etc...
A strong badass whose power is not underminded by a darkhaired or gold blonde overpowered manchild ML and a maid who is not that devoted or subservient at all - She has her own life + not a cheerleader for anyone!
A former Villainess/Lion Bitch Queen and a former saint/a materialistic opportunistic false snob maid (only towards elites)... Both have strong agency and are cursing God!!!

Slow Prison Life + Cale The Trash Count come to my mind that have a very very unusual vibe when it comes to this aristocracy novel genre.
The Pet of the Villainess, Kingdom of the Queen and The Lady's Butler are also about liberation, empowerment + healthy empathy.
I really like Untouchable Lady + The Way to Protect the Female Lead's Older Brother but there are these annoying obsessive psychos going crazy because of the powerful and beautiful FL. I hate this trope. It only served to confirm the audience how desirable the obvious hidden gem FL is...

I read the translated novel chapters in novelupdate and The Fl is basically just an upbeat Cheerleader & Damsel in Distress for the very smart competetent unusual ML.
She can't actually do anything on her own.
Her incredible non duke-prince ML always saves her.
I really like this kind of ML and their love dynamic but it is quite annoying that this girl can't protect herself at all.
She is good at things they just aren't useful to fend off a prince. I always appreciate a FL who sees a guy's behavior and nopes out without slowly caving
I think it's ok that she's not over-powered. The story already established that the prince is overwhelmingly strong both in magic and social position.
Rather I think it's very sweet that both Sharina and Reol have to rack their brains and work together in order to fend them off.
It's very rare to see a FL and ML who works together, and that she clearly expresses how she feels towards him and his kindness. I think it's a breath of fresh air?
Her being not op is not the problem.
My only issue is that she isn't competent on her own.
Most of the time she either keeps admiring, praising & cheering for her boyfriend or getting rescued/guided by him.
That Baron ML is very nuanced but the FL is a practically as useless as Princess Peach only with a little more attitude and optimism.
