But seriously I don't know where the world is going to with this irrational younger generation
I also don't like their very old generation with conservative behavior. But it's the same in most countries the same as mine it's the new generation that must bring change but right now they are just going downhill

I read this around 2012 like it has been more than 12 years
This manga with View finder and lovers mode and haru wo daieta and dear green were my favorites and it had so much effect on me I recommend them to all those that are interested in old school titles.
And i cried for weeks for Ai no kusabi
It was nice to return to remember memories

I feel like I'm old school now so many things and styles have changed but I'm happy that tragedy is no longer popular unlike that time

I know people say minors shouldn’t read yaoi, but majority of us old yaoi readers and even new yaoi readers are mostly underage. Teenagers also are not that innocent and are curious about sex and sexuality so some people can find comfort in not only BL but also GL. I am bisexual and I really liked to read both, and it made me more accepting of gay relationships and myself. I think the argument is kinda invalid since regardless teens will still read what they want regardless of age. It’s also the same thing with video games. Kids will still buy violent video games or watch movies 18+ because they want to see such topics. I’m sure like 90% of boys get someone to buy their video games, and majority of teens have seen porn even tho it’s supposed to be 18+. It’s extremely normal to be curious about these things and hard to regulate if you are not the parent. Even at school children will have such talks and that’s why sex ed is important because rather than teaching incorrect information they know teens will still have sex so it’s important to teach them the correct way to do things.
Yeah most of the older yaoi stories are tragic. I only realised that Haru wo daite actually ended sadly. I chose to ignore the ending because I will never accept such an ending for them. One of them died in a car accident… also ai no kusabi was so sad. They didn’t deserve to die. I’m glad we are getting more happy endings and even coloured manwha. Back in the days we only got black and white but Korean BL is coloured now. Super interesting. I recommend to read danmei (Chinese BL). It’s soooo good, and has extremely romantic plot lines. My favourite is a novel by Meatbun called case file compendium. It’s about a mentally ill patient who is obsessed with his ex-psychiatric and they have a toxic, crazy relationship.

During my teenage years when I was 12 I was disgusted with myself and homosexuality was crime and punishable by death in my country so i couldn't find anywhere safe and was even thinking of suicide and could only find relief by reading yaoi and imagine myself being the uke character
Yes I was also taught homosexuality was forbidden because of religious reasons, but when I was younger around 10/12 I came across a tv series that featured a gay couple and was very fascinated with how they would love each other and pursue their love despite everyone shaming them or being against them. It was like they were the only 2 people left in the world who understood each other. I found their forbidden love beautiful, but society couldn’t accept them. At that time I hadn’t discovered yaoi/anime. It was very rare to find forms of media depicting homosexuality in a positive light and not the butt of some joke or rude remarks. After I found out in anime there is a genre called yaoi dedicated to Boys love I was so ecstatic. All my life I was trying to find a media that comforts me and at age 12 I found it with yaoi. It made me very open to gay people, and I began questioning why people say homosexuality is wrong when their love is so pure. And reading both Bl and GL made me question my own sexuality and become okay with it. That’s why I will never shame any teenager who reads yaoi. I know it can be sensitive topic since it has 18+ things inside, but I have done it myself so I cannot judge them, but understand them.
