Did I misunderstand something. I though Concubine Xiao (the one with Brand) concocted allergy plot to get MC using info she got from her brother, the general. Using little princess as convenient victim to get to MC. But it kind of looks like her brother, the general is the mastermind who actually targeted Emperor's daughter using his stupid sister crusade against MC to shift blame from himself to MC? With MC (and his sister) being scapegoats for his actual plan?

Forget about Chloe being a girl, the whole castle stuff, including prince, look like they never dealt with small children before. Furniture in the room is not child friendly, food is not child appropriate, they are too clumsy in their behavior and mannerisms toward previously abused child. Is it done on purpose by author, to show how everyone here is male, and males don't know first thing how to deal with a small girl child? Or is it just author not thought it thru since small children should be cared for the same way regardless male or female?
I am pretty sure that it is intentionally done, so that you can also see the people around her grow and learn how to deal with a child that's been abused and is a girl. They already said that there are no female workers nor a queen in the palace so everyone is not used to having a girl there.
