Personally, I started reading manga before some of the current good shoujo were scanlated so I lean into the yaoi because although there's mostly porn, at least, at least I don't feel like my blood pressure gonna explode because of all the stupid misunderstandings.
The shounen-ai I found at the time was similar to shoujo too and the slow burn. I......
