For context, if you look go through my profile and reading list you'll barely find any gl with fetishized rape but I won't say none since my pfp is from the yuri "Best Friends". For those who doesn't know,It’s an omegaverse story that includes romanticized rape ,something I absolutely don't like in a story so I rated it one star because of that, but I found the red-haired girl (the victim) intriguing as a character, which is why she’s my pfp. And tbh recently, a lot of Korean GL authors have been adding unnecessary SA like they do in bl so you can say this GL equivalent of Love Is an Illusion in some ways.

I’m very vocal about topics like shotacon, pedophilia, and fetishized rape because I’m a CSA survivor myself. I’ve been in therapy for years and have helped other survivors as well. You can see this on my profile , I talk about it openly.

Recently, I called out an user for enjoying shotacon and justifying it by saying “it’s fine because it’s fiction.” I called that person a weirdo and asked their friend a very simple question,Their friend responded by saying it’s wrong to judge people for what they enjoy in fiction. While I get the argument in a general sense, but that argument doesn't hold up when It’s literally sexualized depictions of little kids and it's illegal for a reason, and people consume it for sexual gratification only not because they think it's "taboo content".

They tried comparing my reading that one yuri (which is a rape slop so I disliked, rated one star but liked one of the character enough to put it as my pfp because she was a victim and i already made it clear thousands times btw) to shotacons enjoying their shota content. To me, that’s like comparing someone whose pfp is Hyesung from Love Is an Illusion to someone who openly enjoys shota content which is sexual depiction of kids.The situations aren’t parallel imo.

Does that comparison sound valid to anyone? Because personally, I don’t think reading a story that includes rape ,and explicitly disliking it , is the same as consuming sexualized depictions of children. If that logic held, then 90% of BL readers who’ve read Love Is an Illusion or BJ Alex and liked characters like hyesung would be lumped together with shota fans. And that’s clearly not reasonable.

I’m looking for a neutral, nuanced opinion. And if you know what i am talking about and support the other user’s perspective, I’d prefer you refrain from replying , I want input from people who can look at this without bias. Thankyou.
