Feels wrong to put it here but this BL transcends its bounds. Where it succeeds most isn’t the romance but depicting the life of a man, his friends and families against the backdrop of a 60s Korea, a patriarchal society, a look into a nation recently at war, queer characters within that framework and strict family structures of that time.

The dialogue and banter here is so brilliant. Blistered by excellent characters, pacing and plot, it’s extremely well done and enjoyable. Found that it seemed to move scenes quite abruptly at times but I thought it was charming. The pacing is excellent too.
