one of my first novels that i was truly invested in, but i haven't caught up with the manhwa until now. and after visualizing the scenes with MC, im wondering how tf have i never thought this stoic motherfucker didn't belong on this list LMAO. ngl, he does not rlly fit here; he's NOT hedonistic, and instead, sacrificial, and he's confident without excess shamelessness. but im so in love with this mofo and his posse of strange friends, that im fucking putting him on here LOL

literally fits on this list because he's a streamer. his audience is a live reflection of twitch, too.

um ? he's not really hedonistic but the way he like. has no shame in lying about his financial status while pulling the act of his fucking life is so ? like bro wouldnt u think ur friends and fam are WORRIED about you LMAO. he's a broke dude and a broken game character.

edit: it's a good story, good MC (who honestly lowkey doesnt make it onto this list if imma b real), but for the life of me i cannot remember this plot at all bc i keep mixing it up with other similar VR stories L

one of the few MCs with a legit morally unpredictable personality. lowkey a sadist with a MASSIVE yet earned ago to match. i RLLY like his character. it's not "twisted" by betrayal or by some comedic variable (ie: money, like most mcs); he seems fundamentally fucked in the head since the beginning, which makes this story one of the few ones that doesn't make MC look dumb for spending time on a game after REVERSING TIME bc he seems kinda crazy lol. kinda boring but a powertrip ya know

THEY MADE A MANHUA OF THIS LOL. okay lowkey. MC is quite literally enforcing eugenics with his lil sims except rather than killing his avatars for ableist reasons, he instead tortures them through the buttcracks of mother nature to forcefully evolve them into the missing link before humanity and god's leftover takeout. like. idk if manhua will follow the novel, but in the novel, MC was a hotheaded bastard with zero sense of self-restraint but like good for him ig idk LMAO

okay ngl i only read the novel not the manhwa but like. this dude like ? it's not "cruel" immorality it's just immorality like i've never rlly read another novel where i lowkey genuinely hated the MC's guts. however, i can't hate him for being who he is bc he's like. highkey not trying to hide it and the author doesnt write him in a way that excuses his existence like he's straight up trash and like lowkey kinda funny but like bruh i was so frustrated reading this shit but it was so GOOD u know

OG!ash's attitude is a maniac with zero regards for others' wellbeings, and retrotaku balances it out with his human levels of empathy. tho i do love how he's willing to push the insane narrative and go out of his way to speak his mind in a blunt and bizarrely intense manner. also he exploits the labor of all his un/consenting teammates even if ure on disability charge but he's a "do whatchu gotta do" bastard with the bare minimum moral high ground bc he includes himself in his gambles too
