she's a legitimate problem child with anger management issues LMAO. like bro. half of her friendships are found through beating people up. also this LOOKS like a romance based plot, but it's actually kinda meta in the sense that MC's past is SUPER prominent in her personality and the worldbuilding is a plottwist, and her "tragic" backstory isnt cringe and instead realistic for a dysfunctional family. also love how her bitchiness has consequences- unlike most of this list
(minor romance but it's an episodic mystery series) serre dicks around, steals her coworker's money, and gets plastered. pretty on brand for a war vet tbh like u fought in a colossal event that intimately affects every society and individual involved to its core and came out of it with no healthy identity outside of it. like go take a shot. love how she's written as someone who's already moved on from the war. trauma is present in her character, but it doesn't impede it.

i avoided this bc i didnt like the first like 2 chapters BUT NO THIS IS SO GOOD IM GOING TO SHIT BRICKS LAUGHING mc HAS to be satire and by this point only jesus loves him. also interesting plot + worldbuilding, and a refreshing variant of the gate + awakening trope. i LOVE how he's technically unique and kinda op, but he's still just above average relative to his superiors so his ass gets handed to him even if he's a "violence is not the answer but the solution" persona
