I think there's not a single character in this story that's not sad.
But the romance is really cute and it progresses slowly but starts rather early. ML is quick to realize the situation and most of the story is really more focused on how they win against the big bad together.
Also cute side couple!
I especially loved the FL here, because even though she's confident and can show her "villainous" side, she also shows weakness in front of others when she reaches a breaking point, which only helps those around her see that she isn't the cruel villainess others made her out to be.
In short, she feels more human.
From bodyguard to lover, and they're so cute
A hard read for me personally, but it's such an amazing story. It's uncomfortably close to reality in many aspects, and you can really understand and feel for the characters.
I just wished we got a few more side stories, I need to see more of them being finally happy.
