FINALLY A SPORTS-CENTERED PLOT WITH A FEMALE MC! there's no capitalization on "omg, she's a girl who can drive well?!" & doesn't exoticize girls in the field, and they're all treated as normal competitors. and mc fulfills a lot of typical, male-protag shounen (+ intense sport manga) tropes and dynamics with others, which is very refreshing since it guarantees a lot of platonic friendships and rivalries. also this got me to watch hours of drifting videos lol.
you finally see one of those "girlbosses get revenge on scumbag male partner" stories where they DONT center the girls' around their ex. they develop in their own ways, and they don't execute revenge for the man- they do it specifically for their own reasons and the author makes sure to write a narrative where it's on the girl's lives, friendships, and interactions with the misogynistic world they live in. you really fall in love with each individual girl in differe
oh god the art is so PRETTY. and omg finally? a supernatural shounen plot of an unassuming student who got dragged into a questionable world that borders mortals and the supernatural, with questionable but very individualized powers that everyone craves for their own specific reasons, but with a legit female mc? like WHAT A SCORE. also i like her hair :)

Omg thank you so so sosososo much for this list!!! I found so many new titles to check out. Istg, girl protags in Shounen type stories or ANY other types of male dominated stories are just SUCH a breath of fresh air

Starting off with one of my favorites:
The Last Golden Child, this one is basically like a Shounen action-fantasy adventure story except the protagonist is a girl. She starts off weak but progressively gets stronger and there's absolutely no shortage of strong and powerful female characters in this one. Also, no romance at all. MC develops very nicely, tho I can't say she's the brightest of the bunch lol.
All in all, a solid 8/10 read, will make you cry multiple times.
Fray, also a grittier Shounen type story, but with no shortage of female characters. Like seriously, all the girls are badass as f**k, no matter which side they're on. MC is ruthless to her enemies and isn't afraid to get brutal. I highly recommend this one!
I Became A Legendary Archmage By Reading A Book, there's two protagonists in this, one girl and one boy. I haven't read far enough in to know for sure but it doesn't seem like there's gonna be any romance? Anyway, magical academy setting with lots of action and power ups, girl MC is neither sexualized nor exists only to make the boy MC shine. They work together very nicely in fact, plus their mentor is hilarious lol. All characters in this are very competent and cool.
Side Characters Deserve Love Too, I'm ngl this is on the exact same level of crack comedy as Touch My Little Brother And You're Dead!, protagonist is just unhinged for her favorite character in the story she's transmigrated in. Starts off working as a humble stable boy (she cross dresses A LOT), and slowly becomes a powerful swordmaster later on all to protect her fave from dying. I super recommend this one, it's a real treat to read!

heyy! i really like this list and i found a bunch of really good mangas cuz of this list. Just wanted to point that the mc of 'Hen Na Le' is actually a dude. The mangaka just draws him like really pretty ig lol. There's a live action for this manga and it's mc is a dude. I haven't read the og novel but if you check the wiki it says that the mc is a dude. Just thought I'd let you knowヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
