DEFINITELY A ROMANCE PLOT but MC is so lovable idec anymore. it's a romance reality tv gameshow bit that she got involved w some dude, bc both of their exes got together by cheating on them. and mc and the dude's relationship's development isn't weirdly paced or cringe- honestly it focuses a lot on MC's internal monologue and she's so fucking funny and she's a bold, extremely independent personality and she's all bark and bite. nobody's spared from he

(tw: romance) SO GOOD. it's 10 years after a war and u see how war isn't used as serre's tragic backstory- you see how war is an extreme tragedy upon everyone intimately involved, regardless of background. and MC's personality is great. she fucks around, drinks, and i like how the author writes her as an ex lieutenant whose trauma has been processed a decade later, so there's clear progression from when she got it, to the present.

MC is legit like. the most realistic portrayal of a woman without very specific skills to help her along the way, and instead, just the endurance of a woman in a society, regardless of time period. the way she handles issues that transcend time such as sexism, misogyny, lgbt sexualities, and classism are so good and so set in reality as an individual with little freedom

forget flying cars, girl is gonna rewire the entire infrastructure of security cameras. i LOVE her personality and how seamless even her intermittent anger disorder is, when usually i feel like bursts of anger aren't typically done well with characters. mc is made complex, and so are the other characters around her, which are typically girls as well

there clearly is romance but it's way more interesting as an episodic lawyer case plotline. also i like MC but she's def the mainstream stereotype of autism with autistic traits that are "quirky" or "odd but endearing," but the story DOES write in another dude with ASD who shows other symptoms that aren't as socially acceptable. idk. i hate the "aspergers/genius" type of ASD being at the forefront of positive ASD rep simply due to my own family + experiences, but this story acknowledges this
