MC's an interesting character who hesitates between right and wrong, or rather, her dream vs the "honest" expectations of society/family. She feels repulsed by the version of herself that molds her own ideals to conform. She tries to not give in to family's pressures, yet is not determined enough to make a commitment. Thru her eyes we see others on the same boats but with diff. resolutions, giving the sacrifices they are willing to make in exchange for their dream.
