Surprisingly nuanced and feminist . FL creepy with MAJOR mommy issues, but also very intelligent and the most insightful about the dysfunction within the family. Great exploration of learned helplessness, controlling family dynamics, emotional neglect, and selfishness. Amazing exploration of the mother’s character (you will hate her… and then maybe not?). By chapter 47 I was just so sad for both women. Series not finished yet but I’m dying to know how it resolves.
